Logan’s previous experience in the gym was primarily targeted towards strength training for rugby and as a result, mostly confined to compound lift exercises, with little structure in place in terms of exercise prescription and programming.
We developed a program based on different routines to target different muscle groups on separate days of the week.
Whilst each routine has focused on several key exercises, the program has remained flexible to allow the introduction of a new element for each workout – not only to give each session a fresh and exciting approach, but to also constantly bring in new challenges.
Logan’s progress has been considerable. Not only has he achieved a more athletic build via a gain in muscle mass together with a reduction in body fat, his muscular strength has also increased significantly, to a point where he recently completed a 3 rep max of 150kg in the barbell squat (compared with a previous best of 110kg at the height of his former rugby playing days).
